Dyeing Protein Fibers with Acid Dyes

Dyeing Protein Fibers.  With Susan Snider of Mad River Fiber Arts.  Saturday, June 13, 2026.  10 AM- 4 PM.  $195.00.  $50.00 deposit holds your space.  Price includes all materials.  Call 203-245-5921 to register. 

Imagine dyeing the perfect color palette for your project!   This workshop will explore the use of environmentally friendly acid dyes. Acid dyes are used to dye protein fibers such as wool, silk, and mohair.  

We will learn how to mix a dye solution, achieve various shades of color, mix colors and dye a variegated yarn.  Yarns and dyes will be provided.   Students are welcome to bring their own yarn or fabric.  

Lunch: local restaurants are available, and we have a fridge and microwave for use.
