Join Becky as she shows you how to create a wearable piece of art from wool and silk and funky yarns! Nuno felting is a technique that combines wool fibers with an open weave fabric to create wearable pieces with beautiful drape and textural interest.
In this class, we will learn about the properties of wool and how it becomes felt, combining fine merino with silk fabrics to create a thin, wearable piece that also has structural integrity. You will use soap, water, and agitation to create your fabric. You will learn the fundamentals of fiber layout, choosing materials for your project, and will learn skills that will be applicable to future felting projects.
This is a wet-felting class, AND VERY PHYSICAL, so come prepared with work/play shoes and clothes and an old towel or two.
