One of the techniques that are difficult for newer (and older) knitters are short rows! This technique adds so much to garments- shoulder and bust shaping resulting in a better fit for sweaters and more. If you have made socks, you have most likely done short rows for the heel!
The Lizard Ridge Cowl is a perfect pattern to learn or refine your short row skills. In two sessions, you will learn how to do Short Rows with the Wrap & Turn Method, Japanese, and German Short Row Techniques.
Using self striping worsted weight yarn, you will need about 218 yds. Two skeins of Noro Kureyon or one skein of Uneek Worsted or Deluxe Stripes will give a similar look to the Sample Cowl. Bring size 8 needles, straight or circular, as the cowl is worked flat then seamed (a bonus lesson in seaming too!).
