I work with individuals and groups to help them move with greater ease and learn to love themselves and life more fully. Some people come to me because they want to be more flexible, others are interested in being able to pick up their grandchildren, and many are interested in being more calm and peaceful at work and at home. I have many clients who deal with health challenges that make it difficult to get onto the floor, and a few who want to stand on their heads. No matter the goal, we focus on learning how to cultivate presence and peace that last far beyond our time together.
Originally drawn to the physical practice of Yoga for the flexibility and strength it gave me, I soon discovered the power of meditation, yoga philosophy and self-inquiry. I’ve been teaching since 2010, when I started a weekly chair yoga class at the Newport Senior Center. Since then, I’ve led workshops, worked with private clients and taught a wide variety of classes in Oregon, and now in my home state of Connecticut. I like including both repetition and variety in my classes, which are focused on precise alignment, breath awareness, mindfulness and having fun!
Recently, I have started combining my love of travel with yoga, leading local and international yoga retreats. You can often find me with my head buried in a book, hands busy with knitting, exploring hiking trails or dancing West Coast Swing.
