Spinzilla is coming! What IS this thing we call Spinzilla?
This event is in it's second year, and it is our first participating.
What is Spinzilla?
It’s the annual spinning competition where teams and individuals compete to spin the most yarn in a week!
WHY: Because it’s fun! Spinners of all skill levels can participate, celebrate spinning and motivate each other. There are prizes too! And it’s for a good cause- proceeds from the $10 entry fee go to the Needle Arts Mentoring Program to provide CD spindles and educational material to kids to teach them to spin.
WHEN: The Spinning week event is October 6-12, 2014 - Spinning and Weaving Week. Team members (spinners) can register to join our team Madison Wool starting August 4 @ 10am EDT – September 22*
*Note: a team automatically closes when 25 spinners are signed up--sign up early, no need to start until October!
WHERE: Your choice – gather at the shop, at home, or virtually! We will have some events for this at the shop.
HOW: go to http://www.spinzilla.org/ starting on Monday, August 4th @ 10am EDT (a link will become live then), click on Teams, then click on the tab “Join a Team” and choose Madison Wool. Once you are registered , we will contact you and keep you posted. Maddie is going to be helping me, and we will get a Ravelry team up too.
