THISyarn.com- a resource for crafters and for yarn shops!

Dayna Mankowski

That is the question. THISyarn.com is the answer.

THISyarn.com is a free resource blog for yarn shops, hand spinners, and fiber artists to use when they get asked the #1 handspun yarn question: "What can I make with THIS yarn?"

This blog will focus on intuitive patterns for knitters, crocheters, weavers, and makers - as well as interviewing farmers, artisans, and fresh behind-the-scenes glimpses of the fiber arts industry.

I thought you all might like to know where the idea of THISyarn came from. :) (written by Ashley Martineau, howtospinyarn.com)

Dayna Mankowski owns Madison Wool - a yarn & fiber shop that specializes in one of a kind skeins - and she is constantly getting asked, "What can you make with this yarn?" I told her that's also the question I get asked most as an art yarn spinner. Dayna told me she had always wanted to write a book of patterns for art yarn with other fiber artists in the industry and I suggested turning her book.idea into a free community-oriented online blog.

Two hours of intense creative brainstorming later - we had our domain name and I started digging up all my intuitive pattern ideas and she started putting pieces together for collaborators. I am totally stoked to be part of this project. And we're both looking forward to presenting all the amazing ideas that the art yarn community has to offer.
